Wired News: More Checks on U.S. Travelers Last week, the Transportation Security Agency announced its intent to create a new passenger-screening database that will be the centerpiece of a system to scan for potential terrorists by instantly checking every domestic traveler’s credit history, arrest record and property tax data.

Disclosure of Credit history? Property tax? What is going on? This is William Gibson’s cyberspacial world arriving. This is a terrifying needless invasion of personal privacy. Most people are uncomfortable disclosing to their colleagues how much they earn, but now they will be forced to disclose their entire financial history just to take a plane flight!
